1. What is the
Sify Mobile service?
Sify
Mobile service is a unique service which allows you to get a number of our
special services right into your mobile phone. The best thing is that it costs
much less than what you would pay for getting this over a standard Pull based
service as seen on other websites. All
you have to do is configure what service you want and when you want it and you
can be sure we'll send it right across to you. Currently we are offering you
the following services:
a. News bulletins 4 times a day
b. Astrology alerts (Daily and Weekly)
c. Cricket World Cup Scores - with more information than just scores !

2. How do I
subscribe for the Sify Mobile service?
Just go to the website mobile.sify.com and see all the services that are available.
Then get yourself a pre paid account on the Sify Mobile service and configure when
you would like to receive your messages. You can subscribe for as many services as you like.
In case you wish to discontinue a service, you just have to go to the website and change your settings.

3. Will my
mobile operator allow me to receive these messages ?
Yes, no matter where you are in India, you would be able to receive Sify Mobile messages on your mobile.

4. Will Sify Mobile work with all mobile phones ?
Sify Mobile messages will work on all mobiles which support SMS services.

5. How much will this service cost me ?
To first get on this service you need to get a prepaid pack.
You can get a starter pack for as low as Rs. 99. There are no activation
charges like in pre paid mobile phones. You only pay for those messages
that you receive. Nothing extra !
For every message sent to you, the appropriate amount will be deducted from
your account. For example, if Astrology costs Re. 1/- per message, your account
will reduce by Rs 1 every time you get your prediction.

6. Do I need a Sify ID to access this service ?
Yes. You will require a Sify ID to access this service. This registration
is free. Click here to get a new Sify ID.

7. Is this a 24 hour service ?
This service will allow you to choose when you want these messages
sent to your mobile. Sify will offer you certain convenient time slots
when you can choose to receive specific messages. You will then receive
the message at the time that you specify.

8. Can I use Sify SMS if
I am on roaming inside India or travelling abroad ?
You can receive these messages anywhere inside India if you have opted for
a roaming facility on your mobile connection.
In case your Indian mobile operator has a tie up with any of
the international operators in the country you are visiting, you would be
able to receive these messages.

9. How do I stop a service I have
subscribed for?
You can stop a service by going to the My Alerts section and select the
option to disable all alerts. You can also go to the Edit alerts section of
a specific page and choose to disable that service temporarily. You could
also just uncheck all the selections that you have made.

10. How do I
restart a service I have disabled ?
In case you have disabled a service, just uncheck the "Disable Alerts"
box in the Edit alerts section.

11. How do I
pay for this service?
You can pay for this service through Credit Card or in any of the Sify Iway
cyber cafes. On payment, you will get a 16 digit Activation Number and 8 digit
Password mailed to the email ID that you have specified. You would have to key
in this ID Password in the Activation page(Linked to that page). Once this is done,
the amount you have paid for will be creditied to your account. and you can start
using the Sify Mobile service.

12. How do I
get charged for this service ?
For every message you receive you get charged a fee per message. For example,
if News headlines cost Rs 1 per message, One rupee is deducted everytime you receive
a news message. There are no hidden costs and you pay for only those messages that
you receive.

13. What do I
do if i change my mobile number?
In case you change your mobile number, you can change the number to which you
want messages sent by going to the My Alerts page. There we have provided a
facility for you to change the settings for your mobile number.

14. How do I
renew my account ?
To renew your currency, you must purchase a pre paid pack and get an
Activation ID and Password. Use this to renew your existing account in the
Activation page.
In case your account runs out of currency, you will stop receiving messages
until you renew your account.
